Prepare your "No Dig" Spring Garden Now! with Laurie Waite

We all have ideas for our yards and our gardens.  Then reality sets in, particularly when you want to create new spaces.  Learn how to plan for and prepare new beds and gardens in a way that doesn’t involve digging.  This class will show you a practical, low input way to start your beds off in a healthy, organic way and be ready to plant by spring.

We’ll cover soil basics, the food-web and environment.    The goal is healthy soil and plants where your garden will thrive naturally, but without the hassle of double-digging, roto-tilling and other labor-intensive methods.

Laurie Waite is a Connecticut Master Gardener and accredited NOFA Land Care Provider (Northeast Organic Farmers Association). She writes “Ask an Organic Gardener” column for Herb Quarterly and for a time owned Laurel Garden Design. Laurie grew up on a dairy farm in Rehoboth, MA and has gardened extensively for over 25 years. While she has a lot of experience growing vegetables, her love and passion is flowers.

Class limited to 12,13 and up,  $10 Pre-register at 401 274 1160
