An Over view of Permaculture with Carter Tracy

Permaculture co-founder David Holmgren said, "We asked what would agriculture look like if we started from scratch and redesigned it based upon what we witness in untouched eco-systems."   He and Bill Mollison scripted a series of system-based land-design principles to generate optimal productivity while allowing the flow of nature to do most of the work.

This class is an introduction to the philosophy and principles of permaculture design, such as observation, utilizing edges and nodes, understanding sectors and zones, and the importance of doing nothing at the right time.

Carter Tracy studied Permaculture Design under Scott Pittman and Seth Blowers on Lama Mountain in Northern New Mexico.  Her passion for connecting permaculture principles to old buildings and urban culture led her to Providence in 2011.
